On July 31 – Aug 1, 2010, the first phase of the project accomplished its goal of commemorating six Japantown buildings. Each building’s past and present history were presented through text and photographs printed on poster panels that were displayed in front or inside of each of the following buildings: 331 Powell Street, 374 Powell Street, 390 Powell Street, 393 Powell Street, 415 Powell Street and 427 Powell Street. Being the early stages of the project, non-permanent signage, vinyl banners and foamcore boards were the decided materials.
